This liquid diet has been advertised in late night infomercials. Despite the manufacturer’s attempt to establish the product’s credibility by using a more serious approach to advertising, we believe that it is not the safest choice. Very rapid weight loss is not a healthy goal. We favor weight loss supplements that are safe and effective and which work within a realistic time frame.

The Hollywood 48 Hour Miracle Diet® contains Filtered Water, Apple, Cranberry, Raspberry, Blueberry, Blackberry and Strawberry Juice concentrates, Xathan Gum, Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C, Acai Citrin, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3),Vitamin A, Natural Blueberry Flavor, and other ingredients listed on the retailer’s website.

*Vitamin A is a popular remedy for rough and dry skin. It is a fat-soluble vitamin which can be obtained from fish liver oil, eggs, and dairy products. It also prevents vitamin C from being oxidized too quickly in the body. When taken in normal dosages, Vitamin A is harmless.

*Vitamin C is an essential water-soluble vitamin that performs many different functions in the human body.

During the time we were researching on this product, the list of ingredients was not available on the product’s website. We found it instead at a retailer’s site.

Like most other companies, the makers of the Hollywood 48 Hour Miracle Diet® claim to place great importance on customers’ concerns. A customer service phone number and e-mail address are provided on the website for inquiries. However, the information on the product was not very informative and as mentioned previously, the ingredients used were not even provided.

A customer service representative we talked to informed us that the product is all-natural and that it has been on the market for about four years. She was able to read a list of ingredients to us even although it took her a few moments to search for it.

We also sent an e-mail to the company and are still waiting for their response.

What is interesting about the website is that it mentions that dieters may need to order more of their products. A link provided brings one to a website advertising a 30-day diet that uses at least 4 products which can be purchased from the company.

Liquids are less effective in delivering the formula into the bloodstream than capsules. There is also a bigger chance of taking the wrong dosage with liquids. Capsules are pre-measured and correct dosage is assured. Pharmaceutical companies use capsules. Although capsules cost more to the manufacturer, it is the form that works more efficiently and guarantees the right dosage.

The ubiquity of this product gives it a sense of legitimacy. However, the website nullifies this. It sells too many other weight loss products that consumers may become very confused. The Hollywood 48 Hour Miracle Diet® does not qualify as a complete formulation. It does not have a fat burning ingredient like Advantra-Z®, which is the only patented natural weight loss ingredient around, or the effective and hugely popular appetite suppressant Hoodia.
