This book was written by Stephan Birchall. The author expresses in the book that the success or failure of one’s diet is solely dependent on the individual. The good thing is that it does not prohibit dieters of their usual dietary consumption but rather requires them to eat very less of it all throughout the day. In this light, there are no feelings of deprivation and dieter’s do not consult to cheating their diet.
Exercise is also not an option being offered in the Birchall Diet. The author says that it is not the best way to lose weight nor is it necessary for weight loss but rather exercise should be considered as a means on how one can keep their bodies strong. There are specific and very easy to follow sets of guidelines on the book that is said to be the potent way on achieving weight loss.
Birchall believes that exercise is not the answer to weight loss. He encourages dieters to look at it as something that would inspire them for a healthier body. In example, if you have a very active lifestyle then there would be no need to loose weight by means of reducing the food that you eat. On the other hand, having a sedentary way of life would definitely require one to reduce their food intake in order to avoid gaining weight.
The book does not offer any food and nutritional guidelines which may come as a downside. It may not be wise to let some dieters do away on their own when it comes to food consumption even though how little they may consume it. In this light, some people may even have to find nutritional advice elsewhere just to ensure that their path to weight loss would be safe and effective.
On the other hand, even though there aren’t any restrictions set for food intake, foods that can be easily digested (such as vegetables) and high in water content (such as fruits and fruit juices) are given an emphasis to be present in the diet.
There were no guarantees of specific weight loss per week in the Birchall Diet since it targets no specific body weight but rather it claims that an individual may lose about 2 to 4 pounds per week when the guidelines set on the book were followed.
